akihiro
cheol-gang's submissive. entertaining to him by virtue of being from another time period and having familiarity with art history. finds him unattractive (...for now?) but likes his company, though he's still not at the level of being unable to kill the guy if he wants to. his understanding of korean culture/previous work for the north korean government/ability to speak fluent korean win him some points. cheol-gang doesn't approve of or entirely respect his career as a sex worker, so he refers to him as a "dancer" in conversations with other people.
javert
the most attractive person cheol-gang has met in his lifetime, at least by his own very specific standards. he still hasn't totally accepted that he's very sexually attracted to this man and justifies it by telling himself he'd rather make quota with someone who isn't an eyesore. a 1:1 match for almost all of his sundry kinks. he's pegged javert as someone he's able to toy with, and makes deliberate moves to keep him guessing. he has zero regard for his wellbeing.
logan
akihiro's father. cheol-gang introduced himself shortly after the contract was signed, resulting in a tense cross-examination over drinks at the scratch. doesn't trust him and knows to be extra careful around him; is additionally wary of him as a soldier who apparently settled in japan at the end of the colonial period, and doesn't know what prejudices his deceased wife may have imparted. finds him interesting, a mild challenge, but not intimidating or particularly aggravating.
irving
a third lieutenant in the english royal navy and a decent enough partner for d/s activities. interesting and enjoyable company, but not enough to spare him from the potential of cheol-gang's wrath. they get on well and cheol-gang likes that irving recognizes and respects the title he worked to earn.
m / midnighter
a sexual partner — and only that. cheol-gang likes him for his willingness to endure extremes and his enjoyment of them. midnighter lets him play out his more violent urges in a setting where he lacks the power he did before, and he gets off on that. as for the man's wellbeing, though, he wouldn't hesitate to throw him to the wolves.
matthias
an impressionable young man cheol-gang very much recognizes as impressionable. he's target #1 for his efforts to slowly amass a circle of people under his heel, and with good reason: matthias has already suggested "his" idea to start a 'gang'.
dinah
a particularly unruly submissive, and one cheol-gang thinks very little of - but he recognizes that her trauma may be a source of potential where future manipulation is concerned.
